Wellcoin App Reviews

Great app!

I think that this is a great app. My one suggestion for it would be that they need to do a better job marketing it and creating partnerships with the other devices and apps that sync to it like Fitbit and Runtastic. The prizes were good when I first downloaded it, gift cards to Dicks and Sports Authority, but the quality has decreased over the last little bit. I assume this is becuase they are not as popular as they should be so they arent ableto secure the long term partnerships with some of the bigger retatilers. Hopefuly this changes, but the app itself is great.

Frequent crashes

Crashes frequently on iPhone 6s. Numerous times when trying to link different accounts (I.e. Fitbit), but also when just navigating around the app.

Love the concept, app needs work

I really love this app, when it works correctly (which isnt too often as of late). The Fitbit integration has been shoddy lately and my steps are only auto-syncing once or twice a week. Also, if you skip a picture when youre verifying activities, it shouldnt come back in your feed again (right now it reappears every time you verify an activity in the same session). Also, every time I get a notification, instead of getting one I get about twenty!

Manually logging steps...

Manually logging steps with an app that boasts an automatic sync with Fitbit is a bit frustrating to say the least....

Prizes are discounts

If youre going to have fake prizes (coupons) as rewards than you should at least offer more than one charity, and a charity with a more universal and pertinent cause

App Ok- Rewards Bad

The app is ok, but I dont use it much anymore because the only rewards relevant to me and my location ended up being coupons for DICKS sporting goods... Coupons that cant be used for all the brands I typically buy there like UA or running shoes. Meh.

Good Rewards

Awesome being able to get the Whole Foods Gift cards at my local store.

Great motivator

Love this app. Rewards me for the healthy choices I already make everyday. Has started to shift me towards new behaviors. Super cool, now need more partners in the marketplace.

More cons than pros

In general this is a great app to keep you motivated to be healthy. But only if you live in NYC or NJ. If you live in any other location your options for rewards are very limiting. Even the Dicks reward can only be redeemed once which is a policy set by Wellcoin and not Dicks. Ive been debating about how whether or not to keep using this app in hopes that theyll expand their rewards. But for anyone considering this dont download if youre outside of NYC. There are better apps than this one for you.

Problem syncing with Fitbit on a regular basis

For this app advertising that you get bonus points for letting wellcoin automatically sync with Fitbit, it needs to do a better job of communicating with Fitbit. It hasn’t synced with Fitbit automatically since Tuesday which has caused a lot of us to miss out on points for steps and sleep during that timeframe.

Fun app, rewards are limited and dont work

This is a fun app where you earn points for healthy activity. However the rewards you can earn are really limited. And when you finally do redeem them you never get the reward. Too much work for too little reward.

Disappointing

It wouldnt let me add anything. I kept getting errors, and its not all that user friendly. I deleted it--its a great concept but I just doesnt deliver.

Nice concept, poorly designed

I love the idea of this! A social networking app for like-minded healthy people with perks. If only it wasnt just on east coast time and if there werent so many "errors." Very slow app and crashes often.

Love the idea

This app is great for motivating and helping people embrace a healthier lifestyle! But there are too many errors and at the moment I cannot even log in. The fb sign in wont work. I never set up a username and password so I am lost. Stinks because I was looking forward to posting and sharing healthy tips with fellow users.

Meh

Was great for 2 days. Then it crashed and wont let me sign in. And I cant start over because I already exist in the system. So its useless. Unless I get a new phone number, email, etc.

Loving this app

Love this app! Syncs with my fitness apps like Fitbit to give me coins I can use towards rewards. The rewards can be limited at times. They do change so I just save until I see something I want. Also, I just won a $10 Amazon gift card!

Very slow and dysfunctional

I like the idea and am having fun logging but the app crashes a lot, is poorly designed, dysfunctional, slow and I dont trust that Ill actually get the rewards...

Needs some work

I just joined today but have already gotten frustrated with how slow it is and how many errors there are. It was very helpful with making better choices today so Ill stick with. I know its a growing app so please get your team to fix the bugs.

Fun when it works (which is rarely)

I feel weird knocking any app thats given me $30-worth of Paleo bars and donated dog food to a shelter on my behalf in return for posting pics of healthy meals/activities, but this thing crashes ALL the time and is just slow all around -- no matter what youre attempting to do (log activities, view the marketplace, etc.). Ill continue using it because Im a sucker for freebies and will just hope it gets better.

Requests

I love this app, I think it really helps me stay motivated and accountable. However, I think it is unfair that there is a cap of how much you can earn when you are being active. I went to bootcamp this morning and didnt have my pedometer on until after so I tracked my steps (over 11,000) and I only got 1 point for my steps. I think that is unfair and kind of ridiculous. I also would like to see meal prepping as an option to earn points- that is Huge in the fitness/health world and it should be mentioned. I think in general there should be an option to write in activities for lesser points until more people use that activity and then it could be included in.
